I'd always been fat... fattest girl in grade school, fattest girl in high school, fattest girl in college, at my friend's weddings... and on and on.... you get the picture! Sure, I'd lost weight before, but always gained it back with a little more added on - it has truly been a life-long struggle! Then I had a health scare at the end of last year and decided it was time to get myself healthy! At 59 years old, I quit smoking and started this incredible weight loss program and haven't looked back! I've lost almost 65 pounds in 7 months and have never felt better in my life.... it's easy, fast, affordable and most importantly - healthy! My goal had always been to be a "number", whether it was a size in clothing or a certain weight, I'd get to that number... but then what?? Since I had no goal left, I just got fat again! Well, not this time! My goal now is to be healthy... that's a goal that will be with me forever and ever. No more fat girl.... thanks to this program and my Health Coach, I'm just plain healthy and feel like a million bucks!!

I had taken a stress-filled job in early 2008 and was commuting 40 minutes one way. I was up early, early in the morning and in an office atmosphere, with junk food within reach all day....that’s when and where I gained an extra 38 pounds. My husband is a runner and I asked him what I should do to lose the weight. His answer was to RUN!! So he loaded my iPod with a program called Couch to 5K and 13 weeks later I ran my first 5K and then a week later I ran another. It was then that I stepped on the scale and found I had not lost a single ounce! I was discouraged to say the least! I started this program on 27 August 2009 and by the end of October I had lost 38 lbs! That’s 8 weeks! I’ve maintained that loss for 13 months now and ran again that same 5K and when I crossed the finish line, I felt like I could and I wanted to keep running!!!! It’s the best feeling ever, to be nearly 50 and in the best shape of my life!!!!

This program will be the easiest plan you have ever tried. If I can do it while commercial fishing out on the Pacific Ocean any one can! I was not supportive, originally, of my wife doing this, but then thought it might help her if I was doing it with her. I started in July of 2007 and had lost 85 lbs by Oct. 2007. What I really like about this program is the behavior modification. We learn to eat 6 smaller, well-balanced meals per day that take care of cravings.

Our story is short and simple - we were fat! A medical wake up call started us on the search for health only to be met with frustration, starvation and failure. Then fate stepped in! I started the program knowing full well it wouldn't work for me - why would it - nothing else ever had. But I had faith in my Health Coach and she had faith in me. My wake-up moment was when in August of 2007 when I pretty much fell to my knees in my closet because I literally had nothing to wear. I had outgrown my latest set of "clothes just to get me by until I lost weight." I did not notice pounds steadily piling on - I think I woke up and realized I was fat. I do not define "fat" as anything to do with a number on a scale - but more when you get to the point that weight no longer allows you to be who YOU are. I sat there in tears wondering how I had gotten to that point (yes I know my 4 kids had a little to do with it) and why and more importantly how I would get myself back. I knew at that point I was at a cross-roads in my life - I could find myself again or be lost in this big shell of a body. That began my research and I kept a food log to see how I ate on a regular basis and to determine what needed to be corrected. As I mentioned having 4 small children and a full-time job severely limited my options of what I could make work for me and my lifestyle. I could not microwave meals and eat them, I could not count points (I had tried that and would blow all my points on some chips and a 2 liter of soda - my faves), and most importantly I WAS NOT PATIENT! If it did not work and work quickly - I was outta there! I am not the kind of girl that watches paint dry if you know what I mean. Fast-forward and now it is 2009 and I’ve maintained my weight loss for over a year! So I am awake - I am alive and it feels so darn good! I know that being a health coach is what I need to be successful for the next phase of my weight loss and lifestyle change. There is nothing I enjoy more than to wake up and check my email and touch base with my clients. I am also now in the process of building a strong team with incredible people that I want as "co-workers" and I know together we can enable others to take back their lives one pound at a time. The program is simple and you just have to do it.

I have always been slightly overweight most of my life. As I got older, and after having three kids, I guess you would consider me, definitely overweight. Then, life happened, and the pounds really packed on! For the first time in my life, I was considered ‘obese’ and it was very difficult to face. I tried some diets, and just plain exercising myself to death, all of which did not help me lose weight. I kept gaining. I finally threw my hands up in surrender, to accept that this was my reality, and I was still a happy person, despite my weight.
The problem was, that my back started hurting, I wasn’t able to get around very easily, because I was always out of breath and tired. My husband was very worried about my health, because he could always hear me breathing hard up the stairs, and I would snore very loudly at night. The doctor also kindly mentioned that I would become diabetic type 2 very soon, if I didn’t do something. It was a frightening prognosis, because I didn’t think I could do anything. It seemed like I tried the most realistic options for me.
Then one day, I noticed an ad in Craigslist with a ‘coach’ who said she could help me lose weight. I called her up and started the program in desperation. But, I truly felt skeptical that it would work. It seemed easy enough, and I liked the fact that I would have my own ‘personal’ (and free!) health coach to help me every step of the way. I felt like I needed a lot of help! Best part seemed, like I got to eat all day, and not be hungry etc. After a few days on program, everything ‘happened’ that she said would happen. I no longer craved the bad foods I used to, I did not feel hungry, and I felt a new sense of wellbeing and energy I never thought I could have again. I quickly lost 65 lbs (in four months!) And to date, I have lost 80 lbs!! I have kept this up for a year now, and it, honestly, has never been easier to keep the weight off! Stopped snoring, back no longer hurts... on and on!
